Cookie policy

We do run ads — but we serve them ourselves, so there are still no advertising cookies.

Most cookie policies are long because most sites carry a dozen trackers. Sportsaro carries none of them, so this one is still short.

What we set

• Sign-in. When you sign in, your session is stored in your browser so you are not asked to sign in again on every page. Clearing it signs you out.
• Preferences. Small values remembering things like which tab you were on.
• Analytics. Google Analytics, used to count how many people visited and which pages they landed on. It is not tied to your athlete's profile and we do not use it to build a picture of any individual.
• Sportsaro usage statistics. Two random identifiers in your browser (one for the visit, one that lasts longer) let us count visitors, see which parts of Sportsaro are used, and know which link brought you here. They carry no name, no email and no IP address, they are read only in aggregate, and they are never shared with anyone.

What we do not set

No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no data brokers, no cross-site tracking.

Sportsaro does carry advertising — businesses sponsor teams and pay to promote posts. Those ads come out of our own database and are chosen by sport, so there is no advertising network to feed and nothing following you around other websites. An advert you see here knows which sport you play and nothing else about you.

Turning them off

Every browser can block or clear cookies in its settings. Blocking the sign-in cookie will stop you being able to stay signed in — everything else on the site keeps working.
