For parents
You hold the account. Your athlete gets the record.
Your child's coach probably sent you a link. Here is what you are actually being asked to join, in plain terms.
How accounts work
You create the account. Under it, you create a profile for your athlete. A child under 13 cannot hold an account here at all — the adult holds it, and the athlete's profile lives inside yours. You can edit it, hide it, or delete it whenever you want, without asking us. If you want your athlete posting from their own device, you can hand them a sign-in passcode that you create and can withdraw at any moment — no email address, no password of their own, and withdrawing it signs them out everywhere straight away.
What other people can see
By default, nothing. Profiles, team feeds, rosters, and messages are visible to signed-in members only. Two exceptions, both of which you control:
- A team page. Coaches can choose individual photos to show on the team's public page. When a minor appears in one, they are shown as a first name and an initial — "Dawson S." — never a full name.
- A public athlete page. If you turn one on, it shows the athletic information you chose to put on their profile — sport, position, team, graduation year, bio, awards — with their name always shown as a first name and last initial, never a full name. It is kept out of search engines, and you can switch it off at any time. A single highlight can also be shared by link the same way.
What we do not collect
No device location, ever — no GPS, no location tracking, no “athletes near you”. The only place information here is what you choose to type in yourself, like a team’s town or a profile’s city and state. No selling data to anyone, ever. The platform is paid for by team plans, sponsorship, the marketplace, and advertising — ads are served by us, chosen by sport and place, and never target or profile your child. Privacy sets out exactly what an advertiser can and cannot see.
Moderation runs whether or not anyone is watching
Every photo, video, highlight, and direct message is screened automatically before it settles, and anything questionable is hidden and raised to a person. Safety explains exactly how.
Things you may want to do
- Change what is visible — open your athlete's profile and edit visibility there.
- Take something down — use the ⋯ menu on it, or write to safety@sportsaro.com. We will not ask you to justify it.
- Leave a team — from the team page. Your athlete's own posts stay yours.
- Delete the account — from account settings. It removes the profile and its content.
Questions we get a lot
The FAQ covers cost, what happens at the end of a season, and who can message your child. Anything else, write to support@sportsaro.com.
